Role overview

A Support Services business is looking for a Control-M Technical Support Analyst to work in the Trading and Risk Systems (TRS) team. The role will be based within the IT department, which is located in the London headquarters building.

The business has automated a significant portion of its overnight and intraday processes through the introduction of an Enterprise Scheduling Tool based on BMC Control-M technology. The Control-M Analyst will responsible for support of these existing job schedules and assisting with the implementation of new schedules to meet challenging business demands.

 

Scope of Services

  • The primary objective of the Technical Support Analyst is to deliver implementation, development and support services on the clients Enterprise Scheduling Tool which is based on BMC Control-M 9.
  • Technical Control-M Support requiring investigation, assessment and resolution of support issues which may involve the design, build and modification of batch schedules.
  • Administration of Control-M 9 and related components on Redhat Linux and Microsoft Windows operating systems including extensive use of application plug-ins, Managed File Transfer and Batch Impact Manager.
  • Input into the planning and implementation of further system enhancements including upgrades (such as to Control-M Release 9.0.18).
  • Daily support to users, primarily the functional support teams of key IT systems within the IT department
  • Liaise with this organisation and manage the process to resolution.
  • Test and implement the resolution in my clients Development and Production Enterprise Scheduling systems.
  • Maintenance of implementation standards and support documentation to ensure that adequate service levels can be maintained.
  • The role will work with the work stream leads, project managers and Programme Manager as well as specialist IT resources and support teams.
  • Support the transition of this Scope of Services to a Third Party Provider once appointed.

 

 

Experience required

  • Several years’ experience with BMC Control-M, particularly day-to-day technical support.
  • Project experience and knowledge of BMC Control-M set-up, configuration and associated processes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of project approach and application implementation related methodologies.
  • A proven track record in delivering results within agreed deadlines.
  • Ability to make effective and appropriate use of business/functional knowledge and technical skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular, service orientation and people empathy.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to operate sensitively and effectively in a multicultural environment.
