ServiceNow Developer

A well-known Infrastructure business is looking for a talented ServiceNow Developer. This person will be responsible for the development, build and operation of the IT Service Desk ServiceNow instance and will perform integration and process automation using ServiceNow Orchestration.

 

The successful candidate will be defining and implementing IT quality assurance practices and procedures, loading and maintaining data between Service Now and other systems via discovery or API integrations, also responsible for the creation of the ServiceNow operation including people, process/policy and tools from initial green field stand up to Operationalise through to Continual Improvement.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Development of ServiceNow using Agile development sprints
  • Working closely with designated Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) around technical and operational matters
  • Working with internal resources to ensure proper security controls are identified, implemented and tested
  • Working with designated resources to achieve a fully functioning implementation of ServiceNow to support the continuing development and improvement of the platform
  • Performing risk assessments and testing of periodic ServiceNow product upgrades to ensure ongoing stability of the platform
  • Developing technical requirements for assigned projects; determines hardware and/or software necessary to accomplish projects; evaluates resources; makes hardware and/or software recommendations

 

 

Skills:

Excellent track record building applications in a relevant environment & will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Proven ServiceNow development experience, 2 years minimum. Very good understanding of Update Sets best practises, upgrades & CMDB/Data customizations & Integrations (REST) essential
  • Very Good understanding of the ServiceNow platform from Operational perspective (CSA preferred)
  • Strong programming experience of ServiceNOW Framework, ServiceNOW JavaScript & ServiceNOW API, from Requirements, Development, to Application Handover essential (DEV, Team Player & Positive Communicator)
  • Some Front End like Jelly, HTML & XHTML, XML, CSS, AJAX, SRM, Portal good bonus however not essential
  • Knowledge of IT service management/IT best practices including the ITIL framework, ITIL Foundation preferred
  • ITIL Certified Foundation Level, with good understanding of process framework & Config/CMDB/Integrations & Data Quality
